Skirt and Shoe Combos for Mile-Long Legs

Print Skirt, Nude Platforms
A global-inspired print mini gets a date-night makeover with the addition of inches-adding tan pumps. Emma Stone legged it in a Sachin + Babi draped number and Brian Atwood heels.
Cotton tie-waist skirt, French Connection, $88; Leather heels, Aldo, $135.

Light Skirt, Textured Pumps
A skirt and shoes in soft shades give the illusion of a long line. Petite Rachel Bilson paired a draped Zac Posen skirt with suede Brian Atwood pumps for a leggy look with plenty of visual interest.
Twill wrap skirt, Diane von Furstenberg, $185; Blush suede heels, Nine West, $160.

High-Waist Skirt, Print Pumps
An above-the-belly button waistline creates the look of a longer lower half, while animal-print shoes counteract the conservative cut. Savvy (5'2"!) Sarah Hyland added Rock & Republic heels to a David Lerner Collection bandage skirt.
Wrinkled cotton-silk skirt, Carven, $395; Calf hair pumps, Enzo Angiolini, $88.95.

Full Skirt, Flat Sandals
You don't have to wear heels to look long and lean! Go the Reese Witherspoon route and add a floaty mid-thigh mini (from Calypso, in her case) to tan sandals for a cute dare-to-bare combo.
Silk chiffon skirt, Etoile Isabel Marant, $470; Gemstone-accented espadrilles, Nine West, $69.

Wrap Skirt, Strappy Wedges
A long skirt with a sexy slit creates a slim, stem-enhancing vertical line, while a pair of wedges is an easy-to-walk-in way to add inches. Zoe Saldana mastered the look in a wrap number and sandals from Yves Saint Laurent.
Silk drape front skirt, Thakoon, $425; Suede and snake-print sandals, Elizabeth and James, $365.

Bright Skirt, Bright Pumps
You can't miss a pair of legs clad in hot colors! Emmy Rossum flaunted her gams in a peony pink skirt and shoes from DKNY.
Twill ruffled mini, Isabel Marant, $370; Suede pumps, Miss Selfridge, $75.

Floral Skirt, Platform Booties
Just add sexy stacked lace-ups to a flirty print number for endless-looking legs. Jessica Alba looked stylishly statuesque in a fluorescent skirt and Jeffrey Campbell boots.
Silk print skirt, Girl by Band of Outsiders, $380; Embossed booties, Pour la Victoire, $171.

Black Skirt, Black Heels
Black-on-black is a timeless shortcut to sexy legs. Try a frilled skirt and bow-bedecked heels (just like Selena Gomez in a Tibi mini and Giuseppe Zanotti pumps) for a textural take on the look.
Ruffled silk skirt, Tibi, $370; Leather pumps, Elie Tahari, $298.

Alexander McQueen, Fall 2011

A dramatic romp in winter white, with haute couture details and execution at every level. Over-the-top Elizabethan gowns in white and mauve… Porcelain mosaics as bustiers and as embellishment on shoes… Breast accentuation as a subversive counterpoint to the many lady looks… Equestrian/bondage elements… Sarah Burton is really taking the house forward.

Yves Saint Laurent, Fall 2011

Stefano Pilati took to the archives of the late Fifties and early Sixties for his Fall collection. It opened with a menswear glen plaid in soft black and white, and a double breasted coat dress—straightforward and to the point. Skirt suits and a split skirt worn with a bright white satin blouse and a sculpted wedge, black boot…  Drop waists speak to the 60′s influence. Mixed media jackets with textured wool sleeves… Clipped fur with long fur… Chain link jewelry as trim and as a belt. A YSL collection that felt like YSL.

Stella McCartney, Fall 2011

The masculine and the uber-feminine converged on the catwalk at Stella McCartney for a He Said, She Said collection. On one hand we have oversized menswear-inspired coats and blazers worn over sleek trousers… Double breasted coats in double face, a major fabrication this season… Men’s-inspired chunky sweaters with trousers in winter white… Tuxedo jackets continue and are everywhere, with narrow pants. Stella’s are updated with inverted lapels. On the other hand, we have sexy, shapely sheaths and sensual chemises and jumpsuits. There was crystal pleating in soft dresses and blouses with an exaggerated, rounded sleeve, worn with strict skirts and high waisted pants. All were worn with flat patent loafer.

Chanel’s Resort 2012 Collection

Chanel presented its new resort 2012 collection at the Hotel du Cap, in Antibes on the French Riviera yesterday(May 9th, 2011), a lovely, luxurious setting for the brand to present its new lineup of vacation-ready clothes. The collection featured long sheer silk skirts, loose shorts, two-tone bathing suits, muted prints, and shooting star details, in a palette of floral hues like pale yellows, lilacs, pinks, blues, as well as plenty of white and black pairings. And the clothes weren’t the only attention-getters: Blake Lively, Rachel Bilson, and Alexa Chung flew in to watch the fashion show, all dressed in beautiful Chanel outfits, of course. See more photos of Chanel’s resort 2012 collection in the gallery.

"This is about the women of Cannes, women who mix bathing suits with real pearls and diamonds," Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld told the AP after the show. "After all, you can't wear fakes into the water."

Fashion Designers Sketch Bella's Wedding Dress

Are you Twilight fan? I enjoyed reading Twilight series. I can't wait to see Bella's wedding and her dress in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part1!

While we don't want to ruin the plot for any latent Twi-hards, ever since Eclipse started filming we've been dying for a sneak peek of Bella's wedding dress. In the meantime, we reached out to some of our favorite designers (Christian Siriano's sketch) to see how they envision her gown.
Christian Siriano: Siriano's three-tiered dress has a lace bustier and high ruffle neckline with off-the-shoulder sleeves and a full body.

In Eclipse, Bella's dress is described as an early 1900s design (which complements her antique engagement ring) with friend and Maid of Honor Alice Cullen's modern tweaks to the train and veil. "You look like you just stepped out of an Austen movie," Bella's mother says to the bride-to-be when she spies her in the gown in the final book, Breaking Dawn. "It's gorgeous! So graceful, so elegant."
Lisa Tilson

Monique Lhuillier: Lhuillier's creation is a mermaid-style dress with lace detailing. The reworked take on a gown from the 1920s features a silk sash and high neck with cap sleeves.

Erin Fetherston: This interpretation has a high-neck, puff sleeves and lace bustier. Fetherston put her signature ethereal touch on the two-tiered body with a tulle and lace underlayer.

Brian Reyes: Reyes envisions the fabric as a slightly tarnished bone color. The silhouette is a long skirt with a ruffled blouse and lace diamond inserts. The inspiration is a youthful spin on early 20th century Edwardian era elegance.

Max Azria: Azria focused on the vintage lace detail for his Victorian inspired gown. The dress is complete with lace peaked shoulders, full sleeves and a high neck.

Probal Gurung: Gurung had the most modern interpretation. The dress has a dramatic train, low-cut back and features a unique neckline with red embellishments for a touch of color.

Lela Rose: Rose focused on the rear view of her off-white, handcrafted dress. The simple body gathers at back into a sweet lace bustle.

Badgley Mischka: Badgley Mischka's vision is a strong silhouette with vintage details like full-length lace sleeves and bodice, and a high-buttoned neck.

Zac Posen: This pink gown features a turn-of-the-century corset, bustle, full skirt, high-neck and dramatic detailed sleeves. Posen keeps to the vintage theme by finishing with lace-up boots.
